What factors influence the current exchange rate of the Australian dollar (AUD/PLN)?
The AUD/PLN currency pair shows how many Polish zlotys (PLN) are needed to buy one Australian dollar (AUD). Australia is a developed economy with a highly specialised focus on natural resources.
The following factors have a key influence on the daily exchange rate of the Australian dollar:
- Commodity prices on global markets – Australia is a global giant in the export of iron ore, coal and gold. When commodity prices rise, the AUD naturally strengthens.
- The Chinese economy – China is Australia’s largest trading partner. Any economic turbulence in Beijing has an immediate impact on the Australian dollar exchange rate.
- Decisions by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) and the National Bank of Poland (NBP), which manage interest rates.

Our intuitive currency converter allows you to monitor market rates in real time and see how many zlotys you’ll receive when selling Australian dollars. The data fed into the Trejdoo converter comes directly from the global Forex market, giving you access to real-time prices.
B2B settlements with Australia
Doing business with the Australian market presents a huge opportunity for Polish companies, but the distance and time zone differences can complicate a company’s finances. Whether you import Australian wines and cosmetics, or your software house develops software for clients in Sydney, settlements in Australian dollars (AUD) form the foundation of your business.
The problem lies with traditional banks, which often treat the AUD as an exotic currency. The result? Very wide spreads that mercilessly eat into your margin on every contract. Added to this are high SWIFT transfer fees and unpredictable commissions from intermediary banks.
At Trejdoo, we provide businesses with tools that effectively optimise these costs:
- Wholesale exchange rates: We guarantee direct exchange of PLN to AUD (and vice versa) at transparent, market rates. By bypassing the wide bank spreads, you save the lion’s share of your profits, and with higher turnover, you gain access to individually negotiated terms.
- Cheap transfers to Australia: You can immediately transfer the Australian dollars exchanged on our platform to your business partner’s account. We optimise SWIFT payment routes so that your money reaches Australia safely and without unnecessary, hidden fees along the way.
- Free currency wallet: If you receive payments in AUD, you don’t have to exchange them straight away. The funds can sit safely in your Trejdoo wallet until the Australian dollar exchange rate rises, giving you full control over when and at what rate you convert it into Polish zlotys.
Multi-currency card – Your financial essential in Australia
Australia is a country where contactless payments have taken over virtually every aspect of life – from cafés in Sydney, through public transport fares, to petrol stations in the remote Outback. Cash is rarely needed there. However, if you take a standard Polish bank card with you, you’ll pay a hefty commission for currency conversion and the spread on every transaction. Given the already high cost of living there, this is simply throwing money down the drain.
The solution that allows you to retain full control over your travel or business trip budget is our multi-currency card. See why it’s worth having in your wallet:
- Pay like a local (no commission): Top up your wallet with zlotys and exchange them for Australian dollars (AUD) at an excellent market rate. The card intelligently recognises the transaction currency and debits funds directly from your AUD balance. You don’t pay a penny in commission at the till.
- Protection against terminal traps (DCC): Overseas terminals often offer so-called dynamic currency conversion to PLN at a terrible exchange rate. By paying with our card, topped up in advance with AUD, you completely avoid this problem.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - AUD/PLN
How do you read the AUD/PLN exchange rate correctly?
In this exchange rate, the Australian dollar (AUD) is the base currency and the Polish zloty (PLN) is the quote currency. The exchange rate shown indicates how many zlotys and groszy one Australian dollar is worth. For example, a rate of 2.6500 means that 1 AUD is worth 2 zlotys and 65 groszy.
Why is the AUD referred to as a ‘commodity currency’?
This is because a significant proportion of Australia’s GDP is derived from the extraction and export of natural resources (primarily metal ores, coal and gold). Consequently, the Australian dollar’s performance on the Forex market very often follows global price trends in the commodities markets.
If I transfer AUD to Poland from an Australian bank, will I lose money on the currency conversion?
If you transfer funds directly to a Polish bank account held in zlotys, your bank will automatically convert the currency at its own, usually very unfavourable, published exchange rate. A much better option is to transfer AUD to your Trejdoo wallet, exchange it for PLN at the market rate, and only then withdraw the funds to your own bank account.
What are the best times to exchange Australian dollars for Polish zlotys?
Due to the time difference, the Sydney stock exchange operates during our night-time hours. The highest liquidity for the AUD/PLN pair is usually seen in the morning (Polish time), when the Asia-Pacific session overlaps with the start of the European session.
