What factors influence the current euro-to-zloty exchange rate (EUR/PLN)?

The EUR/PLN currency pair is the most important market indicator in Poland. It shows how many Polish zlotys (PLN) are needed to buy one euro (EUR). This exchange rate is crucial for the Polish economy, import costs, export competitiveness, and the household budgets of ordinary citizens.

The euro-to-zloty exchange rate depends on a complex interplay of domestic and global factors. The most important of these are:

  • Decisions by the Monetary Policy Council (RPP) – which sets interest rates in Poland, directly affecting the zloty’s attractiveness to foreign capital.
  • The policy of the European Central Bank (ECB) – which regulates the cost of money across the eurozone.

The EUR/PLN exchange rate is also extremely sensitive to the sentiment of global investors (so-called risk appetite), inflation data in Poland and political turmoil in our region.

Euro exchange for businesses and importers (B2B)

Eurozone countries are the main destination for Polish companies’ exports (according to the Central Statistical Office, 74.8% of total exports go to the EU) and imports (52.6% of total imports). If your company settles accounts with Western contractors, every change in the EUR/PLN exchange rate directly affects your profitability. Currency exchange at a traditional bank, subject to a high spread, is an unnecessary cost that reduces your competitive advantage.

At Trejdoo, we help companies manage this risk. We offer negotiated rates for larger transactions, allowing you to exchange euros on terms previously reserved only for the largest corporations. Furthermore, euros purchased from us can be transferred immediately and securely directly to your European suppliers’ accounts via fast SEPA transfers.

Currency settlements without opening a bank account

With Trejdoo’s IBAN account service, you can receive payments in euros directly on the platform, even without a traditional, expensive foreign currency bank account.

This is an excellent solution for exporters, freelancers working for international clients, or transport companies (the TSL sector). You can safely hold the euros you receive in your account, exchange them for other currencies at the best market rates, or transfer them on to your business partners.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - EUR/PLN

How do you read EUR/PLN exchange rates correctly?

In this currency pair, the euro (EUR) is the base currency and the Polish zloty (PLN) is the quote currency. The exchange rate shown indicates how many zlotys you need to pay to buy 1 euro. For example, a rate of 4.3200 means that one euro costs four zlotys and thirty-two groszy.

When the euro exchange rate rises or falls too sharply, threatening the stability of the Polish economy, the National Bank of Poland may decide to carry out a so-called currency intervention. This involves the central bank buying or selling large amounts of foreign currency directly on the market, with the aim of rapidly weakening or strengthening the zloty.

The foreign exchange market in Poland is at its most liquid (meaning the narrowest spreads and most favourable exchange rates) during the trading hours of European stock exchanges and banks. The best time to carry out transactions on Trejdoo is on working days, between 8:00 and 18:00.

The Trejdoo platform offers spot currency exchange with constant access to up-to-date, competitive market rates. By enabling immediate settlement at an agreed, negotiated exchange rate, you effectively eliminate the risk of unexpected fluctuations when settling accounts with European counterparties.
