What factors influence the current exchange rate between the Danish krone and the Polish zloty (DKK/PLN)?
The DKK/PLN currency pair shows how many Polish zlotys (PLN) we pay for one Danish krone (DKK). Unlike other Scandinavian currencies, the Danish krone is exceptionally stable. This is because Denmark participates in the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II).
In practice, this means that Danmarks Nationalbank (the Danish central bank) ensures that the krone’s exchange rate against the euro remains within a very narrow fluctuation band. Consequently, DKK exchange rates largely follow the strength of the single European currency (EUR), and the DKK/PLN pair is primarily influenced by:
- Decisions by the European Central Bank (ECB) – which shape the value of the euro, to which the krone is ‘pegged’.
- Decisions by the National Bank of Poland (NBP) – which influence the valuation of the Polish zloty.
- The health of Denmark’s powerful export sector (including the pharmaceutical, agricultural and maritime industries).

Exchange rate of the Danish krone for B2B
Denmark is a highly attractive, albeit challenging, market for Polish companies. We export machinery, food and furniture, amongst other things, to Denmark, and Polish construction firms are thriving in the local services market. Despite the stability of the DKK exchange rate, transactions through traditional banks still involve high currency conversion costs.
At Trejdoo, we help companies optimise their costs. We offer negotiated exchange rates, making the conversion of Danish kroner to Polish zlotys (or vice versa) significantly cheaper than at a commercial bank. The savings achieved in this way are pure profit for your company.
Low-cost B2B transfers to Denmark
In addition to the exchange service itself, the Trejdoo platform offers convenient tools for managing your company’s finances. You can quickly and securely transfer the Danish kroner you’ve exchanged with us directly to your Danish business partners’ accounts.
This allows you to avoid complicated and expensive bank transfers, whilst ensuring that you pay your import invoices on time and at the best possible exchange rate.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - DKK/PLN
How do you read the DKK/PLN exchange rate correctly?
In this exchange rate, the Danish krone (DKK) is the base currency and the Polish zloty (PLN) is the quoted currency. The exchange rate shown indicates how many zlotys or groszy you need to pay for one krone. For example, a rate of 0.5800 means that 1 DKK is worth 58 groszy.
Why is the DKK to PLN exchange rate so similar to the EUR to PLN chart?
This is a result of the ERM II mechanism. Denmark has committed to keeping its currency closely pegged to the euro (with a permitted deviation of just 2.25% from the central rate of approximately 7.46 DKK to 1 EUR). As a result, when the euro appreciates against the zloty, the Danish krone appreciates almost proportionally.
What are the best times to exchange DKK for PLN?
As with other European currencies, the highest liquidity (i.e. the narrowest spreads and most favourable prices) for the DKK/PLN pair is seen during stock exchange and banking hours in Europe. On Trejdoo, you’ll find the best conditions on working days between 8:00 and 18:00 local time.
How quickly will a transfer in DKK reach my business partner in Denmark?
The processing time for an international transfer in Danish kroner depends on the banks involved in the transaction. Funds sent from the Trejdoo platform are usually credited to the Danish recipient’s account within 1 to 2 working days. We always strive to optimise transfer routes so that your settlements with the Scandinavian market run as smoothly as possible.
